VB Studio Works by Vivian Beers – Inspired by growing up in a rustic rural setting and learning about handmade artisan craftsmanship from an early age, furniture designer Vivian Beers brings these experiences into the realm of everyday life with her designs. For her, the physical process of making is intricately linked to the research process. The evidence of her deep knowledge of handcrafted furniture and passion for design is clear to see in each one-of-a-kind piece featured here.

VB Studio Works Bridge Bench Check It Out
This Design was the first in Beers’ Infrastructure series. The work centers around the study of benches, as Beers believes that they are a type of furniture that supports our interdependency on public design. The pieces themselves are built out of a metal structure, covered in steel mesh, and impregnated with Ferro cement material. They are all one-of-a-kind due to the method in which they are made.
VB Studio Works Low Rider Check It Out
Part of her Infrastructure series, Beers designed this piece while living in Southern California. It is a reflection of SoCal culture and a study of ubiquitous architectural public works through the public/intimate format of seating.
The pieces themselves are built from a metal structure, covered in steel mesh, and impregnated with Ferro cement material. Each piece is one-of-a-kind due to the method in which they are made.
VB Studio Works Current Check It Out
The designer wanted this chair to seem as if it had been cut and crushed out of a single sheet of metal. At the same time, she wanted it to feel as fast and clean as water in its silhouette. Each piece is one-of-a-kind due to the method in which they are made.
VB Studio Works Ruffle Stool Check It Out
The Ruffle series is the result of the industrial sheet metal material and the streamlined, flowing structure. Built like a hotrod, the designer is going for the imagery of aesthetic attraction and precision of design. All stools are hand formed and one-of-a-kind.
